Born in Albuquerque , New Mexico in the year 1983 David L. Bonilla Jr. (Aka Lex) at the age of 13, began his appreciation for music. He started off by rhyming to old school, hip hop, as well as music that surrounded him by his older brothers.
Lex continued this until his skills got to a point where his control was without thought. At age 16 he wrote his first song. He knew then that music is all he wanted to do.
At age 18 he began to "Battle" in the streets and soon thereafter in clubs. Racking up win after win. Performing at hotspots allover town such as, Neds, Club Hilton, as well as many other local venues throughout the state.Writing and Free styling became his way of life and soon he began to create his own studio. He knew if he was going to make it, he would have to do it himself. His bedroom/studio is where it started. Lex began with a basic Yamaha keyboard, then upgraded to a Roland Phantom Workstation, Drum machines, Mics, Pro-Tools and anything else he thought he needed to create. All self taught!!
Lex's appreciation for many artist beats such as Timbaland, Neptunes, Dre. etc. was the catalyst that drove him to start creating his own beats. Lex says, "It is very satisfying to create my own beats to compliment my lyrics." "It is my passion!"
Lex's creativity within his beats led to an invitation to perform on one of his peers' singles! After 11 yrs of rapping and 6 yrs of creating beats, (Limited Samples!) Lex knows he is ready to share his gift with the world.
Now Lex's CD I AM MUSIC released on Not Only Street Records is ready to announce his arrival inspired by the street life he has experienced, family tragedy and the love to create music.
Also I would luv to introduce Orion Simerl aka Clarke Kent of Milwaukee, Wisconsin also known as Scummed Out Entertainment. Last year featuring in the Kiss Idol competition making it to the last round and was knocked out a rock group.
