Hi Jesse --

Good for you, man. I'm sure you've already figured out that this
won't be easy.

The business of making music is basically to make a record and
then tour to promote it. To start off, I really recommend trying
to get as much recording done as inexpensively as possible ...
But be sure to keep your quality really high at the same time.
Most of the gear that's available today in some friend of yours'
basement is probably good enough to make a really good recording,
so long as he knows how to use it, and YOU know how to be inspired
and play that way.

Make a CD as cheaply as you can, and then sell it at your gigs ---
if it's good, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how many local fans
you'll get.
