I've never seen anything like that with Logic, Cubase, or Sonar (my current platform!)

Without actually seeing the files in question, or knowing a lot of the details, I'd have to lean strongly towards a severely corrupted file or files. It almost appears as if they've lost their attributes.

If I were in your shoes (and I'm glad I'm not - I don't have enough family members to sustain the drive)

I'd try to load the files into a different audio editor such as Forge, Wavelab or CoolEdit. If they load there, I'd save them again, and try to load them back into Logic.

If that doesn't work, I'd try using the Windows checkdisk utility. Actually, I guess you do that in either order!
